An Organic New Year’s Resolution
December 28, 2006 at 3:32 pm

Do you want a happier, healthier body and a happier, healthier planet in 2007?

Join Mission Organic 2010, sponsored by The Organic Center, and resolve to choose both this year.

Mission Organic 2010
is a campaign to encourage all Americans to make more organic food choices. The direct, proven health benefits of a well-balanced diet composed of mostly organic foods are significant and growing. In addition you can positively contribute to the humane treatment of all animals and the restoration and preservation of our Earth.

Joining Mission Organic 2010 publicly announces your commitment to make at least 10% of your eating choices organic through the year 2010. That means at least 1 out of 10 items in your grocery cart will be organic or at least 1 out of 10 meals you eat will be organic.

Make this a year that changes your life and changes the world- Join Us Now!

New Research Findings
December 20, 2006 at 4:11 pm

Fresh news taken from the December issue of “The Organic Report,” put out by The Organic Trade Association:

- The Organic Center has found that on organic farms, it takes about 30% less energy to produce a bushel of corn.

-A three-year study in the United Kingdom found organic milk contained 68% more omega-3 fatty acids, on average, than conventional milk.

-Research conducted in central India has shown that variable production costs for organic cotton were 13-20% lower than for growing conventional cotton and that the average cotton yields were 4-6 percent higher in the organic fields.

-A study of satisfaction among dairy farmers in Wisconsin found that 75% of organic dairy farmers reported being “somewhat satisfied” or “very satisfied” with their family’s quality of life, compared to 46% of graziers and 42% of conventional dairy farmers.

Four more reasons to feel good about your organic choices!
